Meet Faith Hunter, DC/NYC based Yoga instructor, global traveler, & Lifestylist, sprinkled with a dash of Louisiana charm. Faith began her life long love affair with yoga in the early 90s as a way to cope as her beloved brother Michael was dying from a complication related to AIDS. Through meditation and mindfulness Faith was able to release her fears and experience an awakening from within. From that day forward, she committed herself to sharing these practices with the world. Always eager to learn, explore, and share, Faith is an inspiring and generous mentor to yoga practitioners of all skill levels.
Jean – Jacques Gabriel
Jean-Jacques is a Haitian-born artist, father, and teacher living in Philadelphia. He started painting in his father’s studio, before he could walk, and later studied at the University of the Arts, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. He found yoga while at art school in 2001, and has delighted in consistent practice and study since. In both art making and asana, he honors the power and potential of rituals and inspired creativity. Jean-Jacques studied Ashtangta in Southern India, receiving his first yoga teacher certification in 2007, and became a certified AcroYoga teacher in 2008. He completed an Anusara teacher training in 2011, and completed YogaHour Teacher Training with Darren Rhodes in 2013. (more…)
Becky Eschenroeder— a 500 hour RYT, 200 hour E-RYT, RCYT —is an accomplished Yogi who was voted as one of the top three yoga instructors by Richmond Magazine in 2015
Becky received her 200 hour RYT under Arlene Bjork and Grace Yoga Training Systems in late 2009. Becky then obtained her 500 hour RYT through Om On Yoga under the guidance and wisdom of Jennifer Elliott. Becky made the conscious decision to dedicate her life to bringing her love of yoga, movement, and learning to all walks of life. Her ability to meaningfully connect with those she serves so selflessly arises out of her personal commitment and disciplined approach to deepening her own learning and practice of yoga, philosophy, and meditation. HawaH is an artist, author, educator, and community organizer. In the year 2000, he co-founded One Common Unity, a non-profit organization that inspires a culture of non-violence through arts and and music. He has released four books, two musical CD’s, and produced three documentary films. His fourth book, The Poetry Of Yoga, is a 2 volume anthology set featuring the writing of 300+ yogi poets from 19 different countries. Anjali Sunita is the Founder and Director of Baltimore Yoga Village and the Jivan Yoga Teacher training held there. She has been studying yoga philosophy, North Indian classical chanting, pranayama, yoga asanas, and meditation ceaselessly for the past 17 years and has taught yoga in India, Peru, Canada, and the United States in diverse settings and programs since 2005. She is an ayurvedic consultant certified by her teacher, Dr. Vasant Lad, and the Ayurvedic Institute. She recognizes the immensity and simplicity of these ancient sciences, and though she teaches yoga and ayurveda, will remain a humble student for the rest of her life.
John L. Thurman, E-RYT 200, is a Washington, DC based yoga instructor who teaches vinyasa flow power yoga classes. He teaches in a style that focuses on providing a challenging and fun environment for all levels. He has been personally practicing yoga since 2001, and his training includes exposure to Rocket, Iyengar, restorative, and vinyasa style asanas, as well as pranayama and mediation. His physical background includes football, triathlons, weight lifting, high-intensity training, and running. John completed Mimi Rieger’s 200-hour Power Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training in Washington, DC, as well as a 50-hour Rocket Yoga training at Asta Yoga Studio, San Francisco, CA.
